Cookie Policy
Learn about cookies, external images and contact forms at Crumb Cake Kitchen. No analytics or advertising cookies are installed in this build.
The current cookie picture
Crumb Cake Kitchen is designed as a simple static recipe website. In the version described by this policy, its own HTML and JavaScript do not intentionally place first-party cookies for analytics, advertising, logins, or personal recommendations. There are no account sessions, checkout carts, personalized advertising profiles, or site-operated tracking dashboards.
This matters because a cookie policy should describe technology actually used, not claim that a complete advertising consent platform exists when it does not. The recipe search and season filters run in the browser while you are viewing the page. They do not require cookies or local storage to function.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small piece of information that a website or service can ask a browser to store and send on later requests. Cookies may help maintain a login, remember a setting, secure a service, or recognize a device across visits. Some expire when a browsing session ends and others remain until a specified date or deletion.
Related technologies can include local storage, browser cache, pixels and request identifiers. Not every browser request that carries technical information uses a cookie. The presence of a remotely loaded photograph or a contact form does not, by itself, prove that the publisher set a tracking cookie.
Essential site operation
The pages load using normal web hosting and HTTPS. A hosting or security provider may use technical measures necessary for file delivery, traffic management, or protection from abuse. We do not control or know every setting of the host’s infrastructure and cannot provide a verified cookie inventory for a hosting account that has not been reviewed.
Essential technologies, if introduced by the host, should be limited to functions reasonably necessary to operate or secure the service. Readers can often view the cookies present for a domain through browser developer tools. That inspection is more reliable than assuming all websites have identical cookies.
Search filters and preference storage
The website’s All Recipes page lets you search recipe titles and filter by category or season. The JavaScript checks the cards already present on the page and shows matching results. When you submit the filter form, the search values can appear in the current page URL so that you can share or revisit the filtered list.
That behavior does not create a server-side user profile, and the current filter code does not save a cookie or local-storage record. A browser may remember history, form autofill, or pages in its cache under its own settings. Those browser-level functions are not the same as a publisher-run advertising tracker.
Third-party photography
Two decorative homepage photographs are served from Pexels image infrastructure instead of from the local recipe-image library. Your browser contacts that provider when the image loads, and normal web request information may be received by it. Technical handling by an independent image service is governed by its own practices.
If the external resource is unavailable or blocked, the site uses its own colored layout as a fallback, but the photograph may not appear. The 40 article photographs are packaged with the site and can be loaded from the same website domain instead of requiring an external photo request.
Forms and external services
The contact form and recipe-update request form post to FormSubmit. Choosing to submit sends the details you entered to an outside service for forwarding to the website’s email inbox. FormSubmit may use its own anti-abuse, session, or security mechanisms in the course of processing a submission.
Those technologies are controlled by the form provider and are not identical to a first-party cookie installed by Crumb Cake Kitchen. The website owner must complete the provider’s one-time activation for dependable mail delivery. The forms are voluntary; you can browse recipes without using them.
Analytics cookies and performance measurement
The delivered website does not include Google Analytics, an analytics tracking pixel, or an equivalent dedicated behavior-measurement script. This is a statement about the included front-end files, not a guarantee that the hosting account has no operational request logs or independent security monitoring.
If analytics tools are added later, the site owner should inventory what they collect, whether their cookies are essential, which providers receive information, how long identifiers last, and whether consent is required where visitors are located. The policy should be updated to match any real deployment rather than merely copying a vendor’s default description.
Google advertising and personalized ads
No Google AdSense, Google ad tag, personalized advertising script, or consent-management platform has been installed in this build. Consequently, this policy does not tell visitors that advertising cookies are currently being set by the website. A future advertising integration would change the data flows and could change the obligations of the publisher.
Before enabling ads, the owner would need appropriate privacy disclosures, provider details, and applicable consent tools for regions where user consent is required. Depending on the implementation, advertising providers may use cookies or device identifiers to show and measure ads. None of those future behaviors should be assumed to be active now.
Your browser controls
Most modern browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies, manage third-party storage, and clear cached site data. The exact controls depend on the browser and device. Disabling cookies generally will not prevent reading these static recipe pages, although it could affect an external service’s security or anti-spam features.
Privacy extensions can also block external images, scripts or form services. Those tools can improve user control but may leave some website features unavailable. If a form cannot submit because of a blocker, you can choose to email admin@crumbcakekitchen.com using your ordinary email application instead.
Policy changes and questions
This policy describes the present static build. Changes to hosting, analytics, advertising, forms, or other technology may require a revised cookie inventory and new visitor choices. The presence of a statement describing a possible future service is not evidence that it is already operating.
If you have a question about site cookies or related technologies, contact admin@crumbcakekitchen.com and describe the URL, browser, and issue you observed. Avoid sending sensitive browser data or credentials. We can use the report to investigate the parts of the website within the operator’s control.
